We built Settle because finding a home in London was unnecessarily painful. Too many portals, too many unresponsive agents, too many listings that looked nothing like the photos. We thought we could do better.
Started in 2023, from a flat in Hackney
Settle began when our co-founders Maya and Tom both moved to London within six months of each other. Between them, they viewed over sixty properties, dealt with fourteen different agencies, and lost three flats to faster applicants — all because the process was slower and more opaque than it needed to be.
They started building Settle on evenings and weekends, focused on one question: what would a rental platform look like if it were designed entirely around the person trying to find a home?
Two years later, Settle lists properties across every major London neighbourhood, has helped over 3,000 tenants find their home, and works with independent landlords who share the same belief in doing things properly.
How we think
Curation over volume
We'd rather list 200 genuinely good properties than 2,000 mediocre ones. Every listing on Settle is manually reviewed by our team.
Tenants first
Most rental platforms are built for landlords. We're built for the people who actually live in the properties. Everything from search to viewing request is designed around the renter.

Former head of operations at a London letting agency, Maya started Settle after spending three years watching good tenants lose out to clunky processes and bad interfaces.

Tom spent six years building products at PropTech startups before teaming up with Maya. He believes renting a flat should feel as easy as booking a restaurant.
